Radiant Serves (Formerly Feeding the Homeless)

Radiant Serves is more than a meal ministry. If you have a passion for serving those struggling in Kansas City, this team helps you live that out in practical, relational ways.

As a small-group-based ministry, we buy, cook, and serve meals and look for opportunities to love our neighbors in Jesus’ name. We are intentionally expanding beyond meal service as the Holy Spirit leads and as our team’s passions guide us.

Meal Ministry – Twice a Month

One of our core serving roles is providing lunch at Central United Methodist Church in Armourdale (KCK) on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 11:00–12:30.

This community includes low-income and homeless neighbors. Because Cross-Lines is closed on weekends, our meal is one of the few Saturday options available.

It takes about 12–15 volunteers each time. You can help by:
 • Dropping off food at Radiant Church between 10:00–10:15 AM
 • Preparing and delivering ready-to-eat food
 • Serving the meal onsite from 11:00–12:30

Menus vary. Some months require no advance cooking (e.g., hot dogs, baked beans, chips, cookies, bottled water).

Serve as often as you like—monthly, quarterly, or simply try it once.

Beyond Meals – Growing Our Impact

Radiant Serves is also forming a team to pursue new serving opportunities beyond meals, both in Armourdale and across Kansas City. These may include practical projects, relational support, and collaborations with local ministries.

To stay aligned, we meet monthly on the second Saturday at Radiant Church from 9:00–10:00 AM in the Connect Room to:
 • Celebrate God’s work
 • Review progress
 • Pray together
 • Plan future events and new avenues of service

We offer more than food—we show up with open hearts, listening ears, and Christlike compassion as the hands and feet of Jesus.
